The business market reports that Timberland revenues for Q1 2010 rose to $317 million from $296.7 million with worldwide sales increasing 7%. We're pleased that people are buying more Timberland boots as it's one of our very favourite brands and deserves to have a higher profile. Timberland has always had a strong enthusiasm for the environment and continues to improve its environmental performance every year. Success, though, brings it's own problems, and we've seen an increase in the amount of fake Timberland shoes on various web-sites. To keep yourself safe, follow one 'Golden Rule' — never buy from a site that isn't honest enough to display their postal address and land-line 'phone. See our range of Timberland Boots including the 'green' Timberland Earthkeepers

Adidas Star Wars Collection - Space shoes
Adidas has launched a collection of clothes and shoes 'influenced' and branded with the Star Wars film brand. The shoes are said to include trainers and boat shoes inspired by characters and craft from the films including the "Adidas Yoda Boat Shoe" and the "Adidas Luke Skywalker trainers". Whether they'll make it to the UK remains to be seen... More details on the product announcement | See our range of Adidas Trainers
We've previously seen Jimmy Choo tying up with Hunter boots to produce a high-profile 'posh' wellie, but can this much-desired fashion brand really be thinking of linking up with the oft-derided Ugg boot? We actually love Ugg boots (well, except for the cardy!), but it still seems a bit of an outside bet to us. Still, the fashion press insist it's going to happen, so expect a co-branded, limited-edition collection in October 2010.
CelebAlert - Vanessa Hudgens lookin' fine in Ecko Red sneaker
New in for Christmas 2009 are these new white versions of 6" premium Timberland boots. In youth's sizes (3 to 8), we really like the quality in the stitching detail and the blue & white laces, and think they're going to be a big seller!
White is the 'new black'! at Timberland, it seems! As well as the white premium boot, we've just had a new 'hi-trainer' style Euro-sprint Timberland sneaker in white with blue trim. Similar to Nike Dunk in approach, but a lot less common on the street!
Is that a Porsche or a shoe you're buying?
Funny to hear that the German car-maker, Porsche, is taking legal action against Crocs for using the brand 'Cayman' on some Crocs shoes! Porsche, of course, trademarked the name for a car many years ago, but their legal department must be thoroughly bored if they're worried about a small £30 plastic shoe being mistaken for a £40k silver sports car. Environmentalists should worry now, if the Germans decide to eradicate South American alligators, or a group of islands in the Caribbean! We'd like to assure all customers that the Crocs Caymens on our sites are, in fact, the shoe.
Another 3 new shoe shosp - Gucci, Versace and Armani

FakeGoodsAlert - How to spot a fake Ugg® site
A new page with details on how to spot a fake Ugg® site is now online. It also lists the site-owner details of many supposed Ugg® sites, so you can see which ones are Chinese counterfeit sites. Above all, just don't buy from any web-site that isn't honest enough to display their contact details.
FakeGoodsAlert - Buying fake Uggs and Timberland can lead to fines
Selling fake products in the UK is illegal; that's why the majority of counterfeit goods sites selling fake Uggs and Timberland are based in China, where the authorities don't seem bothered. However, in France and Italy, owning fake goods is an offence, and the BBC reports travellers are being prosecuted when they arrive at these countries wearing or carrying fakes. They report "In France, the maximum fine is 300,000 euro (£260,000) or three years in jail."
You can avoid most counterfeits by buying from genuine UK-based companies – never buy from a site that doesn't show a valid UK address and telephone land-line number on their contact or 'About us' pages. If in doubt for a ".co.uk" site, you can check the Nominet WHOIS and enter just the domain name (i.e. xxxx.co.uk) into the whois box on the right hand side of their home page. That will give you the address of the registrant.
FakeGoodsAlert - Google profits from adverts for counterfeit goods
We've noticed a number of Google Adword adverts on sites for brand names from counterfeit sites. It's shameful that Google provide no simple method of identifying these from within an Adsense account and so, seem to be quite content to be involved in promoting these criminal activities. We've not been able to find any information about Google taking any action against such companies, even by Googling! Of course, If anyone from Google is prepared to take time to help with that, then we'd love to be able to tell you how to complain to them. Always check that any site linked from Google Adverts has a postal address and phone number before you buy – if they're not honest enough to do that, then you should be very concerned about handing over your credit card details to what are (by definition in UK law) criminals.

The Ugg® Australia brand is owned by the American company Deckers Outdoor Corp. Timberland Earthkeeper Channel
Timberland are keen to spread the word about their long-standing green credentials. Now, some may think that a company using animal skins for clothing can't be all that ecological, but that's a minority point of view and not one which I share. While many companies such as some big UK supermarkets have jumped on the 'green bandwagon' purely for marketing purposes, Timberland have always been committed to having a social responsibility and helping to improve the environment. So, now, they've opened up a new 'Earthkeepers" web-site to tell you more about how they feel about the subject. This includes a blog, information about their eco-projects and details of the Earthkeepers boots - of course, come back here to buy them at a discount! There's also a YouTube channel here and this is the YouTube video that explains Timberland's Earthkeeper principles. Our medium brown Earthkeeper and a much darker brown Earthkeeper are available in stock.
Timberland actually have a long tradition of trying to be as eco-friendly as possible. For more information, see their mini-site at www.timberlandserve.com where you can also download their report on their 'Corporate Social Responsibility'. Recently, Timberland planted several thousand trees in a projects near Milton Keynes to create the "Marston Vale Timberland Trail". Details and maps of the Timberland Trail are here.
